CERTIFICATES IN BUSINESS AND MARKETING
There is more opportunity for employment in business than ever before; and a world wide trend towards diminished career opportunities with:
- governments contracting out more work to private
enterprise (creating more business opportunities)
- globalisation and the internet are creating ever increasing opportunities for business.
Globalisation is here, whether you like it or not!
There is one aspect to globalisation that many people have not yet come to grips with: that is that the significance of political power is diminished and the significance of business power is increased.
The simple fact of the matter is that national governments are not able to control an international economy as well as they are able to control national economies.

Train For the Future/ Not the Present
The problem with most courses is that they have been developed to serve needs perceived in the past, or at best, the present. Problem is…the world is developing so fast today, that the difference between the world today, and the world when you graduate, will be greater than ever. If you want a course that serves you well, you need one that caters to what you will need in the years after you graduate: not the years before you start studying. The most successful people have always had one thing in common: they do things a little differently. With this in mind, our courses offer ultimate flexibility in order that every graduate can be a little different from everyone else who studies with us or anyone else for that matter. If you design your own certificate or diploma, it is next to impossible that you will ever be competing with someone for a job who has the same mix of subjects that you have studied. As a graduate of this school, that makes you unique! With a unique training, your approach to problems in the workplace is also more likely to be different to the "competition"

Distance education today is able to offer more service for the dollar than any other form of education.
With government colleges being starved for funds; and distance
education utilising technology that wasn't available 10 years ago this school offers you more hands on experiences, and opportunity for
personal attention from tutors than a classroom course.
Do not overlook this opportunity.
- Tutors are instantly contacted 5 days a week, by the internet, phone, or in person
- Problems are almost always answered immediately.
- There is no limit on your contact with a tutor
(as there usually is with a classroom based course).
- In general, our tutors are more involved with industry than most classroom teachers

If studying an Advanced Certificate or higher, it is both
acceptable and advisable for you to also include some subjects that relate to a specific industry, as well as
general business subjects.
Research Projects
There are three distinct Research Project modules available, which are
compulsory components in some courses; and options that may be chosen by the student for others, if they so choose. Each is 100 hrs duration, and involves two parts. The first part develops general research skills through some
conventional correspondence study. The second part involves developing and carrying through a research project that focuses on a subject relevant to the students chosen discipline, decided with a tutor.
Research Project I develops the students capability to plan and conduct research into the current status of an aspect of their industry, and to complete a descriptive report based on that research. It also aims to apply and build on skills and competencies gained through previously studied modules, developing initiative and innovation. Throughout this module the student will:
- Determine areas where there is need for research, relevant to the student's area of study.
- Explain research methods, including experimental techniques.
- Demonstrate basic statistical methods used in research.
- Prepare a research report in a format which conforms to normal industry procedures.
- Conduct an information search into a defined & relevant issue.
- Conduct a minor statistical research project.
- Prepare a report on a research project conducted.
Research Project II further develops the students ability to monitor and evaluate a common process (or processes) relevant to their studies.
Research Project III builds on the prior research projects improving abilities to develop innovative approaches to workplace activities, through systematic research, in a relevant industry.
