EVENT MANAGEMENT ONLINE COURSE

Want to Work as an Event Manager?

Event Managers are both self employed small business operators, and employees of larger organisations such as: wedding venues, hotels, resorts, exhibition companies, concert promoters and conference organisers.

Event management can be both a challenging and stimulating industry if you have the personality, knowledge and perseverence to succeed. Like most industries, there are pitfalls that you need to be aware of, and careful to avoid; but with a course such as this, you will be laying a very sound foundation for future success.  

Course Content and Structure

To obtain this certificate, you need to complete a total of six modules, spread over 600 hours of study.

Three of the modules are compulsory core studies; and the other three are chosen from a range of electives

Core Modules are:

• Event Management BRE209
• Wedding Planning BTR104

Elective Modules can be Chosen from any of the following:

• Project Management BBS201
• Food and Beverage Management
• Marketing for the Leisure Industry BRE103
• Personnel Management VBS107
• Advertising and Promotions VBS202
• Entrepeneurship BBS204
• Leisure Facility Management I BRE205
• Industry Project BIP000

Note that each module in the Qualification -Certificate in Event Management is a short course in its own right, and may be studied separately.

Content of Core Modules

Business Studies BBS101

This module has eight lessons as follows:

8. Marketing Techniques.

Event Management BRE209

This has 9 lessons as outlined below:

1. Scope and Nature of Event Management
2. Developing the Concept
3. Physical an Human Resources
4. Project Logistics
5. Marketing an Event
6. Financial Management
7. Risk Management
8. Staging the Event
9. After the Event

Wedding Planning BTR104

This module has nine lessons as follows:

1. Introduction
2. Planning
3. Managing People
4. Managing Locations
5. Managing the Programme
6. Managing Services
7. Managing the Client
8. Managing the Wedding Day
9. Operating a Wedding Business 

   Learning Facilities

   • A data base of 20 million words of unique information written by our staff over 3 decades that can be drawn upon if needed by academics for use in supporting our students.
   • Systems that ensure assignments are tracked, marked and returned to students, fast -commonly within a round 1 week & rarely more than 2 weeks (note: many other colleges take longer).
   • The school is active in social networking and encourages students to connect with us and each other.
   • No automated handling of student phone enquiries. When you call you get a real person; or leave a message and a real person will call you back within a day, but more commonly within an hour or two.
   • No additional charges for extra tutor support over the phone or email.
   • Free careers advice for graduates –It is our policy to provide support and advice to our students even after they graduate. If a graduate needs help with getting a CV together, or advice on setting up a business or looking for work; they only need ask.
