CD COURSES
Contained on your CD
is a complete course of study. You receive:
1.
Lesson Notes and Set Tasks
These provide
material for you to read and study, as well as practical and/or
research tasks for you to undertake as part of the overall learning
experience.
2. Self
Assessment Tests
These are
interactive computer programs which allow you to test your progress,
and revise what you have learnt. These test s can be repeated as
many times as you like, and by repeating them, you will reinforce
key information and knowledge.
3.
Assignments
Provide questions
you can answer. You are not required to complete
the assignments however doing them will assist you to remember and
reproduce key information.
For a small
additional fee you can take the option at any time of enrolling as a
full
student to receive the complete benefits available including
having your assignments marked, accessing the online library,
accessing the student noticeboard, receiving a free newsletter with
specials, events, feature articles and more.
Major
advantage of doing the course on CD without tutor support is
saving money. You are able to do the same course for half the price

HOW DOES THE CD COURSE
WORK?
To start your course, you
need to begin working on the course materials.
On the main menu list you
will find the ‘Course Materials’ button. When you click on this button, 3
more buttons will be displayed:
- lessons,
- self assessment tests, and
- assignments.
Click on
‘lessons’ to begin your study.
Working your way through a
lesson
Start with Lesson 1 and
work your way through the lesson, which will involve reading course notes
and additional materials, conducting any research task required, and
performing set tasks and self-assessment tests when prompted. When you
complete all aspects of lesson 1, click on ‘assignments’ in the Course
Materials menu and complete the assignment required for lesson 1.
Repeat this process for
each subsequent lesson
Self-Assessment Tests
Throughout each lesson,
you will find prompts to do self-assessment tests. These tests have been
created to allow you to monitor how you are progressing though the course
material.
NB: The self assessment
tests require a program called Macromedia Flash to run. If you do not have
this program installed on your computer you can install it from this
CD.
Return to the Main Menu and follow the instructions at the bottom
of the page.

purchased does not include formal registration as a student with
ACS Distance
Education ; but you DO HAVE THE

are available to answer any questions relating to the subject matter of
the course, in both the UK
and Australian
administration centres, on business days (five days a week, excluding
normal holidays).
Queries can be
answered by phone, fax or email, as appropriate; and are
attended to on the same working day or next business day.

You obtain the right to borrow videos from our video
loan library, from anywhere in the world (there is no charge to students
when borrowing videos or DVD’s, however all freight costs are payable by
the student).

You will be provided on request, with access
(username and password) to the online student room (including a Student
register, chat and forums, exclusive online library, secure submission
services, etc).

You have the option of sitting a formal exam and
gaining a credit toward a qualification.
